The fellow will be assigned to the “Tox21 project” identified by the ILSI North America Food and Chemical Safety Committee (FCS Committee) and ILSI Research Foundation as an area of recent interest and activity. Goals of the project include: develop a list of the current institutions (academic, government and industry) working on Tox21 issues; interview experts in government organizations (EPA, NIEHS and FDA) to identify and characterize plans or current projects for testing components of food, including food additives, using Tox21 approaches; create a baseline understanding of the current “state of the science” based upon the identified institutions.

The incumbent for this position will oversee the development and implementation of a new Food Safety program including development of the curriculum, courses, student projects, lab activities, student learning outcomes assessment, and related manuals that meet national standards and guidelines. This is a 12-month tenure-track position in the Department of Animal Sciences, Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, at the University of Florida.
